“If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
Everything is energy. All energy vibrates at various frequencies. Everything we think, feel, say, and do has a vibrational frequency. The frequency we attract depends upon the frequency we send out. Positive emotions and feelings such as love, peace, joy, and appreciation vibrate at a much higher frequency than negative emotions such as judgement, anger, fear, and anxiety.
There is a science called kinesiology that demonstrates the impact that positive and negative energy has on our bodies. I use this test in my classroom to bring to life for my students just how important it is to stay focused on the positive. I am challenging you to try it:
1. Call up two students.
2. Have student A hold out his or her arm.
3. Tell student A to think of something negative, something that makes him or her angry or sad.
4. Tell Student B to push down on student A’s arm while student A resists with all his or her might.
5. You will find that Student B can push down Student A’s arm with relative ease.
Repeat the same procedure but have student A think happy thoughts.
6. Notice, that is very difficult for student B to push student A's arm down.
This is such a powerful demonstration of how positive and negative energy impacts our bodies. Usually, every student in the room is clamoring to volunteer in the experiment. I allow a few more students to come up and demonstrate.
My understanding was deepened further when I turned on the television one day and heard neuroanatomist, Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, speaking to Oprah about her experience after having a stroke. I caught her right as she was saying, "We are responsible for the energy we bring in the room." Her statement stopped me in my tracks. It was like a bomb had gone off; it resonated so powerfully within me. She had a stroke and was in a coma. Her entire left brain stopped functioning, but her right brain was completely open and active. She said she could feel the people's energy. She could feel who was worried, upset, and anxious. She could feel the energy of the doctors who treated her. When she came out of the coma, she said the whole experience taught her that we are responsible for the energy that we bring into a room. She said, “It made me realize that I could no longer afford to be cavalier about my thoughts, words, and my actions. I realized that it didn't matter how much I pretended on the outside; what I really felt underneath was being radiated outward and impacting other people.” Once again, students are expert "fake detectors." They pick up on your vibes--regardless of your words and actions. They know. You are not getting anything over on them. Search deep within.
Question to consider:
Are you carrying negative vibes toward anyone?
Intentionally practice sending positive thoughts and vibes to this person or student.
